The Roman soldiers are the ones who tortured Him, beat Him, and hammered those nails into His hands and feet. Why did God plan that and let them do that to someone so perfect and undeserving of it? Because He loved US. It was for me and you. It was what WE deserve. It wasn't "to teach them a lesson," it was to SAVE OUR LIFE! You forgot the best part: Jesus came back to life after they killed Him. Our debt is paid.
